El Manjar: Reviews & Ratings
Food was great. The price was good too. I’ve gone to other Venezuelan trucks that are much more expensive and for smaller portions. Service was great. Great atmosphere also. Definitely will be returning.
Incredible! I got a Arepa de Pabellón. The consistency of the arepa was perfect, the beef was melt in your mouth good, the plantains were sweet and delicious. This was the best arepa spot I’ve ever been to!
Got Arepa Pelua. Shredded beef, cheese, had beans and some kind of sweet potato/root vegetable (don't know what it was but it was good). Hearty Arepa. Would get again. Was at The Food Picnic food truck area. The Arepa is on the right. My husband got a burger and fries from another food truck.
I’m from Venezuela and el pabellón, and empanadas are extremely tasty and authentic. Some of the best Venezuelan food I’ve had in the city. Great spot to eat at after swimming at Barton springs.
I was sooo happy with this food. Loved the tequeños and the reina pepiada. I tried the parchita juice and was awesome.
Alfredo and his wife serve the most delicious and authentic Venezuelan cuisine. He was patient with my questions about items that were knew to me. The food was absolutely incredible. Each bite a savory and rich experience. The empanada was nearly half the size of my head! I may also add for the generous portions, the price point was extremely fair. I can’t wait to be back again! Dropped by this new to the neighborhood, family-owned Venezuelan food truck and wow, was I blown away! The vibe is as warm and welcoming as the amazing food they serve- it’s homemade - unlike most of the Venezuelan places I’ve been to. Had to try the Tequeños and Beef Panadas - both did not disappoint - crispy and delicious. The Tequeños were crispy on the outside, with perfectly melted cheese inside, just divine and perfect with the sauce. And the Beef Panadas? Full of flavor, with a flaky pastry that just melts in your mouth. It's clear there's a lot of love and authenticity baked into every bite here. Plus, chatting with the owners felt like catching up with old friends- their English isn’t great but that’s part of the experience. If you're craving some genuine Venezuelan eats, this is the spot. Can't recommend it enough!!
Great handmade empanadas and arepas! Nice to sit outside and eat. Everything is made to order so it takes a few minutes but definitely worth the wait!

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the arepa, a traditional Venezuelan cornmeal cake that El Manjar executes to perfection. Highlighted by enthusiastic patrons, the Arepa de Pabellón impresses with its tender, melt-in-your-mouth shredded beef paired with sweet plantains, creating a harmonious balance of savory and sweet that embodies comfort and tradition. Another fan favorite, the Arepa Pelua, layers shredded beef with cheese and beans alongside a subtle hint of sweet root vegetables, offering a hearty and fulfilling meal that stays true to its cultural roots.
Beyond arepas, El Manjar’s menu extends to beloved Venezuelan staples such as tequeños—crispy cheese sticks that provide the perfect crispy, cheesy comfort bite.
